Radiators for Spacecraft
- XCA has used our experience with high thermal conductivity pitch fibers to design and construct lightweight high efficiency composite thermal radiators for spacecraft applications
- XCA uses highly innovative fiber placement and tooling design to solve the problem of low transverse thermal conductivity through the composite.
- Photographs show the radiator for the CRISM instrument that is presently orbiting the planet Mars aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) spacecraft.
- XCA is also working on various other NASA projects developing high thermal capacity heat sinks utilizing phase change materials
